I’ve had my red/cordovan Sanita clogs for a while so they’re scuffed. Should I use the beeswax before I add the shoe polish? Also, should I use standard cordovan-colred shoe polish or the “natural” color? I don’t think the cordovan color quite matches the Sanita version of cordovan, which has more of a cool rose undertone.
The beeswax is to used on the oil clogs You should first wipe them down really good with a soft clean cloth. That leather is treated to have a nice shine without polish. It doesn’t sound like you have surface scuff marks so Penguin Oiled Leather Sponge should do the trick for you.
Thank you for your response. I do have some pretty significant scuffing on the toes of the clogs. Should this change my approach in any way?
It’s really hard to say without seeing them but if your not talking about being scuffed down past the painted surface you would be surprised how well the oiled leather sponge works. Putting polish on them should be an absolute last resort.
Thank you very much. There is a minute amount of scuffing past the painted surface from a few run-ins with concrete stairs, but I’ll try the oiled leather sponge first. Thanks again!
